Supporting community partners is a big part of Galleria Dallas’ mission to be a gathering place for people from all walks of life. As part of its Galleria Gives program, in January, the shopping center will host The Stewpot, a mission of First Presbyterian Church of Dallas serving people experiencing hardship or homelessness, for both its Gallery Wall and Art Window.

Two community events will be held from 1 – 3 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 18 as part of The Stewpot’s partnership with Galleria Dallas. Visitors can talk with Stewpot Art Program artists about their works and see The Stewpot’s friends from the Dallas Street Choir perform on Level 1 near the Gallery Wall.

At the same time, a pop-up “Love Your Neighbor” volunteer activity will take place on Level 3 near the Play Place. Shoppers can help assemble hygiene kits for neighbors experiencing homelessness. All materials will be provided for this free, family-friendly activity.

Since its founding in 1975 to feed people on the streets downtown, The Stewpot has served more than 8.7 million meals and continues to provide comprehensive services and a community of support for those in need.
