Ronald McDonald House of Dallas Hosts Under the Moonlight and Into the Garden Gala
The 18th annual gala to raise critical funds to provide a home-away-from-home for seriously ill children
DALLAS (April 4, 2023) – Ronald McDonald House of Dallas (RMHD) will host Under the Moonlight and Into the Garden on Friday, April 14 from 6:00 to 11:00 p.m. featuring a festive floral theme at Northwood Country Club. The event, presented by LiquidAgents Healthcare, will feature music by Goga, delicious fare, a live auction and dancing with music by DJ Frat Boy.
Since 2006, the annual fundraiser has raised nearly $2.5 million for RMHD, which has served as a home-away-from-home for more than 42,000 families of seriously ill children who have traveled to Dallas seeking medical treatment in area hospitals. This year, the event chairmen are Laura Petka and Lauren Pond. RMHD’s mission is especially important to Petka because in 2019 she traveled to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital with son Hayes who was seriously ill and stayed at Ronald McDonald House with her family while there.
“The Ronald McDonald House made it possible for us to all be together during such a tough time,” said Laura Petka, Gala Co-Chair and RMHD Board Member. “We were amazed at how they went above and beyond to equip us with everything we needed to support our baby in the hospital, while still being with the other three kids. After Hayes became healthy, we knew we wanted to give back to a place that gave us so much and get involved with our Ronald McDonald House locally, in Dallas. Giving them support, so they can continue supporting families who need them, means the world to us.
Auction items include a 5-night scenic couples’ trip to Iceland, a 7-night luxury home escape in Seagrove Beach, Florida, a Texas Rangers Founders Suite with food, beverage and tickets for 18 plus parking, a luxury local shopping spree including LaVie Maxi Caftan, Petra jewelry and Carolina Herrera sunglasses, a Summer “Fun in the Sun” party for the Ronald McDonald House of Dallas families and much more!
