Last week, we asked readers to name the best Mexican restaurants in the Best of BubbleLife survey. Here are some of the top spots in metroplex.

La Finca Chiquita in Allen

Dining at La Finca Chiquita is like taking a step in the past. The recipes have been handed down from past generations, creating Tex-Mex dishes unlike any other. La Finca Chiquita also offers three signature salsas, all provided the minute guests arrive.

Anamia’s in Coppell and Southlake

This Tex-Mex restaurant won by a landslide in Coppell and Southlake. It’s been called a “little local secret,” but now the word is out. At Anamia’s, the menu extends beyond enchiladas and fajitas – there’s also Camarones al Mojo de Ajo and Pollo con Hongos.

Mariano’s Hacienda in Lake Highlands

Mariano’s Hacienda’s claim to fame is that Mariano, the owner, created the world’s first frozen margarita machine. The story goes: Mariano stopped at 711 for coffee. He saw the Slurpee machine and conceptualized the idea of a frozen margarita machine. Now, his creation is in the Smithsonian’s National Museum of America History in Washington, D.C.

San Miguels in McKinney

This restaurant opened in 1992 and has stood as a staple in McKinney. San Miguels offers two types of cuisine: Tex-Mex and typical Mexican food. Most dishes include fresh and zesty peppers and reflect the traditional food found in Mexico.
