Adopt a Pet, Learn About Operation Kindness’ Mission at Galleria Dallas this Holiday Season

Celebrate the holiday season with Operation Kindness, the leading lifesaving shelter in Texas, by adopting a new furry friend during a special holiday adoption event at Galleria Dallas. Community members can meet adoptable animals every Thursday through Sunday, beginning Black Friday, Nov. 25, and ending Dec. 24. The pop-up event will be on the first floor near Banana Republic (across from Santaland and SNOWDAY) from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays and noon to 6 p.m. Sundays.

Visitors can interact with some of the dogs and cats available at Galleria Dallas and speak with volunteers to learn more about the animals’ backgrounds. Operation Kindness hopes to find loving homes for 200 animals through this special holiday adoption event.

Not only does Operation Kindness adopt out adorable furry friends, it also helps new pet owners post-adoption.

“We can help you with resources and advice for potty training, basic manners, separation anxiety and more,” said Shonyae Johnson, Operation Kindness’ pet behavior manager. “Don’t hesitate to reach out to our team if you have any questions or concerns.”

As part of the partnership between Galleria Dallas and Operation Kindness, the shopping center will feature the animal shelter on its Gallery Wall. Each month, Galleria Dallas partners with a local or national charity to shine a spotlight on their work with a Gallery Wall, located on Level 1 of the center across from Sephora. The educational Gallery Wall featuring Operation Kindness will showcase seven lovable cats and dogs, along with QR codes to view more animals or make a donation.

The Gallery Wall will be on display from Dec. 2-Jan. 2.

“We are proud to help hundreds of animals find loving homes this holiday season,” said Megan Townsend, Director of Marketing at Galleria Dallas. “Operation Kindness does an amazing job of helping North Texas families find the perfect pet for their lifestyle, and we’re glad to be a part of the story.”
