National Hispanic Recognized Students left to right: Elisa Cavazos, Bella Correa and Emily Floyd

Recently, Trinity Christian Academy (TCA) seniors, Jessica Lee, Georgia Nine, Jillian Delp and Georgia Ballew, were named 2019 National Merit Commended Students; and Emily Floyd, Elisa Cavazos and Bella Correa were honored in the National Hispanic Recognition Program.

Last year, 1.6 million students in more than 22,000 high schools entered the 2019 National Merit Scholarship Program by taking the 2017 Preliminary SAT. The students were judged on a variety of information including a personal essay, letters of recommendation, their academic record and their PSAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test scores. More than 34,000 commended students throughout the nation were recognized for their exceptional academic promise. The National Hispanic Recognition Program recognized approximately 5,000 students from among the more than 400,000 Hispanic and Latino students who take the PSAT.
