Presbyterian Communities and Services (PC&S) is proud to announce that the 5th annual Each Moment MattersLuncheon will be held October 31 from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. and will honor 44 of Dallas’ own community change agents, everyday heroes and philanthropic visionaries. The event will raise money for the Faith Presbyterian Hospice Caring Fund, which helps the premier hospice provider offer specialized bereavement services for children, innovative programs including pet therapy, massage therapy, and music therapy, as well as benevolent care.
To recognize community members who are making a difference, PC&S is calling on the public to help them raise money by attending the luncheon, or by making a donation in honor of a loved one. Emmy and Writer’s Guild Award nominated co-producer and writer of three popular television shows, David Hudgins, will be the featured speaker at the event. The luncheon is chaired by Clare Buie Chaney, PhD, with Barbara Lord Watkins serving as the honorary chair.
“We look forward to recognizing individuals who are true role models to us all,” said Godwin Dixon, chief executive officer of Presbyterian Communities and Services. “Our honorees, like our hospice programs, are dedicated to positively impacting the lives of North Texans. Through Faith Presbyterian Hospice, we ensure that each moment matters, and we celebrate every person’s life, up until the last moment. Our luncheon will raise money to help us support children and families who are going through challenging times, and it will allow us to add value and meaning to their lives.”
Hudgins is a Dallas lawyer turned television writer and producer, who began his television career as a writer and co-producer on the WB’s television series "Everwood",was co-executive producer on NBC’s multiple Emmy award-winning series "Friday Night Lights," and was co-executive producer of the popular show "Parenthood" for four seasons. Hudgins started the Catherine H. Tuck Foundation to provide assistance to women with breast cancer. His sister, Catherine, passed away from the disease in 2001.
“I am honored that Presbyterian Communities and Services Foundation invited me to appear as its featured speaker,” said Hudgins. “Dallas will always be my home; I cannot think of a better place to share my sister, Dr. Catherine H. Tuck’s message, of living fully and making each moment matter.
