The Metrocrest Chamber of Commerce’s Women’s Business Forum Committee is pleased to announce Lou Sartor as its 2014 Business Woman of the Year. The award, chosen from nominations received from Chamber members, honors one outstanding woman from the Metrocrest business community and is sponsored by Sheryl Giles with Edward Jones.

"Lou  Sartor is one of those unique and talented individuals with both a sharp business acumen and a strong devotion to community service," noted Michael Sanborn, chairman of the board of the Metrocrest Chamber of Commerce.  "Her professional and volunteer contributions to the Metrocrest area are almost innumerable.  I can think of no one more deserving of the 2014 Metrocrest Business Woman of the Year."

Sartor is executive vice president of business development for PlainsCapital Bank, where she excels in creating relationships with new and existing customers and puts more than three decades of experience in bank marketing and business development to work for one of the most respected financial institutions in North Texas. Sartor is a graduate of the School of Banking at Texas Tech University and also the American Institute of Banking. Sartor lends her time and talent to a number of local organizations, including the Metrocrest Chamber of Commerce, Baylor Health Care - Carrollton, the Addison Business Association and Metrocrest Services.

The Business Woman of the Year is nominated by her peers and then voted on by the Women’s Business Forum committee. Nominations for the award enumerated Sartor’s many contributions to the Metrocrest Chamber, the Women’s Business Forum and the community as a whole.

"Lou is a great person to know to be connected in our community," said one nominator. "Between her business connections and community involvement, Lou is integrated and is making her mark."

Lisa Hermes, president of the Metrocrest Chamber of Commerce, pointed to Sartor's personal contributions.

"Lou has a long-standing history of being a leader in our community," she said, "but what I admire and hope to emulate is that Lou selflessly gives of herself. She helps others be successful and her heart is for the advancement of our community."

"I am honored to be receiving this award from the Metrocrest Chamber of Commerce. It is humbling to be chosen by your peers," noted Sartor. "The Metrocrest Chamber has been the venue for me to build lasting business relationships and also become friends with many of the members. Also, I am very fortunate to work for a company that encourages community service. Serving our community is one of PlainsCapital Bank’s core values."

Sartor will accept the Business Woman of the Year award during the Women’s Business Conference on Friday, Sept. 26. This full day of enrichment will include seminars and activities, a vendor expo, the Metrocrest Chamber Business Woman of the Year revelation presentation, and a keynote speech over lunch by DeDe Murcer Moffett, who was recently named to Meetings and Conventions magazine's 2014 "Favorite Keynote Speakers" list. Her enthusiastic, larger-than-life personality will entertain attendees, while she shares with the crowd how she turned her failures into success. The Women's Business Conference will be held at the InterContinental Dallas hotel, at 15201 Dallas Parkway in Addison from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.  Tickets are $100 for the all-day conference or $50 for the luncheon only.  For tickets or more information, contact info@metrocrestchamber.com, or call 469-587-0420.
