Belk, Inc. announces the hire of Marlene Norcross as vice president and regional manager for the Texas region. Norcross will be responsible for 15 stores and will be based in Dallas at the flagship Galleria store.

“Marlene’s knowledge and experience in managing high volume retail stores will enable her to serve our Texas locations,” said Thomas Reis, senior vice president and director of stores, Belk. “Her extensive background in working with Texas markets will be beneficial, as Texas continues to be a key growth market for Belk.”

Norcross most recently served as the district vice president for Macy’s in Indianapolis. In this role, she was accountable for 12 stores in three states. Prior to that position, she was the vice president store manager for Macy’s in Houston and Dallas. Norcross also worked for Best Buy as special project manager and general manager in Austin, as well as for Saks Fifth Avenue as vice president general manager in Houston.

“Belk is a strong player in the retail industry with consistent growth in Texas,” said Norcross. “I am thrilled to be joining the team during this pivotal time and look forward to helping grow the brand’s Western division.”

Norcross is a graduate of Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, with a bachelor’s degree in fashion promotion and business.

Additionally, Belk has brought on Stephanie Sparkman as the new store manager for Galleria Dallas. Sparkman comes to Belk from Macy’s, where she most recently served as vice president and store manager at the La Palmera store in Corpus Christi. Sparkman is a graduate of Florida State University, with a bachelor’s degree in fashion merchandising and a minor in business.
