Home owners in Park Cities, Alert your family, friends and coworkers: Oncor’s Energy-Saving Trees program is now open for 2016.
Any homeowner living within the Oncor service territory is once again eligible for two free shade trees
at ArborDay.org/Oncor as part of Oncor’s partnership with the Arbor Day Foundation. The two-to-three foot trees come in a handful of species, all of which have adapted to the Texas climate and work best within our footprint. The trees will be delivered to your door in the fall – just in time for optimum planting season!
The
Energy-Saving Trees program is designed to help plant free trees in the right places to promote maximum energy savings and the protection of important electrical equipment.
By planning before you plant, you can beautify your community, help safeguard the electric grid as well as the safety of the public, and lower cooling and heating costs by as much as 30 percent.The 6,500 available trees are available on a first-come, first-served basis, and include Burr Oak, Cedar Elm, Mexican White Oak, Pecan and Texas Redbud.
The interactive Energy-Saving Trees website allows customers to customize tree planting to their individual property and helps determine the best planting locations for the most savings as well as avoiding interference with power lines.
