Dallas Divorce Firm GoransonBain expands to meet growing demand for quality legal representation. Family law attorneys Anita C. Savage and Esther R. Donald join firm’s Dallas office.

(Dallas) September 9, 2014 – GoransonBain, a family law leader in Texas for nearly 30 years, recently announced the addition of divorce attorneys Anita C. Savage and Esther R. Donald.

GoransonBain has focused on expansion this year to meet growing demands for quality legal representation in every aspect of family law,” said Beth E. Maultsby, Managing Partner. “The firm has always emphasized purposeful growth with strategic promotions and new hires that enrich our strengths as individual attorneys and as a whole.”

With nearly 20 years of practice in family law, Anita C. Savage has a proven track record of representing clients in both collaborative and traditional divorce cases, and is a professionally trained mediator and Parenting Facilitator, assisting families and the Court as a neutral professional. Savage’s primary focus is to help clients reach the best agreement possible outside of court, so their money can be used for their family and children post-divorce – not on unnecessary litigation. If court is the only option, she has built a reputation as a smart and tenacious advocate for clients and their children.

“The end of a marriage is an incredibly difficult time, but the decisions made during this time are so important, said Savage. “My goal is to help clients make informed choices so they can successfully move forward after divorce.”

Savage earned her Bachelor of Arts in criminal justice from the University of Toronto and her Juris Doctorate from Georgia State University Law School, where she was a member of the National Dean’s List.

Esther Donald  blends her extensive legal knowledge with personal advocacy, listening closely to clients and becoming a partner in the healing process. Donald is a parent and stepparent, allowing her to understand additional facets and nuances of family law. She devotes empathy, patience, and logic to even the most emotional cases, emphasizing productive communication to find realistic possibilities and work toward positive outcomes. While comfortable in the courtroom, she has learned that the best resolution often comes from an expertly negotiated settlement

“Divorce is a complex and emotional process,” said Donald. “I realize that clients need a strong advocate with a level head who will listen attentively and allow them to vent, process and heal.”

Donald graduated with honors from the University of Texas at Austin, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in English. She received her Juris Doctorate from the University of Texas School of Law, where she was associate editor of the Texas Law Review.

“Family law is like no other practice in the legal system. The issues our clients face are personal, emotional, and often extremely difficult,” said Maultsby. “Attorneys have to balance vast legal knowledge with sensitive interpersonal skills, diplomacy, advocacy, and assertiveness. GoransonBain has built an incredible team over the years, and we believe Anita and Esther possess valuable skills that will make them excellent additions to the firm. We are thrilled to welcome both of them to the GoransonBain family.”

(Dallas) September 8, 2014 – Golden Chick, the Texas based chicken legend that has delivered bold flavors all the way to the Middle East and Asia, today announced its newest location in Cleburne, Texas.

The restaurant opened August 27 at 1410 West Henderson St. near the corner of West Henderson Street and North Ridgeway Drive, next to Rowlett True Value Hardware.

Cleburne’s newest eatery is owned and operated by Harry Waldron, who also owns the Forth Worth Golden Chick on Golden Triangle Boulevard. Waldron, a San Antonio native, has been a resident of Cleburne for 28 years.

“Everyone has been watching the construction for the last year, and we are excited to finally open our doors to the neighborhood. The community has been hungry for another quick service casual dining restaurant, and Golden Chick will be the first to serve roast chicken. Our honey yeast rolls are going to be another hit and our catfish will be the best in town,” said Waldron.

The restaurant has created 40 new jobs so far and is still taking applications. Waldron says he looks for employees who are friendly, customer service focused and enjoy being part of a team. A sporting spirit encouraged Waldron’s choice to open a restaurant after 25 years in the pharmaceuticals industry. He still plays softball and wants to be an active mentor to young employees.

John Hagan, who is Waldron’s best friend from college and owns four Golden Chick locations, first introduced him to the brand. Waldron was attracted to the restaurant’s family atmosphere, which he also felt has permeated from the main corporate office.

“Chairman Mark Parmerlee is a wonderful leader who has done a great job of laying out standard operating procedures and training programs for store openings. There’s a major emphasis on customer service, and it was clear from the beginning that this is a brand with plenty of opportunities ahead. I know I will be able to grow with the brand and have a positive impact on my children, grandchildren and future generations of leaders,” said Waldron.

The Cleburne restaurant has already started participating in local charities and community organizations. Waldron has a close relationship with the chamber of commerce and has enrolled the restaurant to participate in the Operation Blessing food and clothing drive for local residents alongside Marshall Young Insurance.

The opening is timed with major brand expansion throughout the Southwest, Southeast, Asia, and Middle East.

“Golden Chick is a family brand that has been collecting fans for the last five decades. Today, the restaurant has grown as far from its Central Texan roots as China and the Middle East. However, as a Dallas-based company, we’re still thrilled to launch new restaurants in our backyard and serve unforgettable chicken to our neighbors,” said Mark Parmerlee, Chairman of Golden Companies.

Power Granola Adds Flavor and Philanthropy to Walmart Shelves

(DALLAS) August 27, 2014 - Tamara Hext Hilliard, the Dallas/Fort Worth-based granola queen, today announced the debut of Tay’s Gourmet Granola in more than 200 Walmart locations throughout Texas including Dallas/Fort Worth, Austin, Houston and Beaumont. As a Children’s Hunger Fund partner, each bag of Power Granola provides a meal for a child in need.

Children’s Hunger Fund will use proceeds from all Tay’s Gourmet’s purchases to donate meals to less fortunate children both locally and internationally. The organization uses local churches across the United States to deliver ‘Food Paks’ directly to the homes of struggling children and families in their communities.

Tay’s Gourmet is the brainchild of Tamara Hext Hilliard, Miss Texas 1984. Since her pageant days, Hilliard has been an actress, national health club spokesperson, television host and self-published author. When she started cooking up her own granola to fuel her workouts as a Power Vinyasa Yoga instructor, she realized her granola hobby could become much more.

“I wanted a simple snack that would be easy to enjoy on the go, but most granolas were heavy with added sugar and mostly made of oats alone. I started mixing my own batches of granola with whole roasted nuts, flax seeds and different dried fruits. After rave reviews and increasing demand from my friends and family, I realized I had something special,” said Hilliard.

The granola’s salty-sweet spin on healthier snacking has made Tay’s Gourmet so popular that Hilliard will now be able to test her product in select Walmart locations throughout Texas on a large, center aisle display.

Power Granola comes in four wholesome flavors that are delicious alone or served with yogurt. Our cranberry nut crunch flavor is seedy and toasty with nuts, dried cranberries, flax seeds and plenty of filling fiber. The blueberry coco-nutty crunch is salty and sweet with coconut chips and whole pecans. The nut-free power berry is loaded with strawberries, cherries, cranberries and blueberries and the banana pecan crunch is packed with whole almonds and banana chips.

“I believe healthy eating fuels a happier life and can even help us think better. When people snack on Tay’s Gourmet, they can enjoy incredible taste, texture and variety while making a healthier choice to benefit their bodies and minds,” says Hilliard.

About Tay’s Gourmet

Tay’s Gourmet was founded by Tamara Hext Hilliard, who was crowned Miss Texas in 1984 and Miss America Fourth Runner Up in 1985. Hilliard has been an actress, national spokesperson for a health club chain, television host and self-published author. Her passion for healthy living led her to teach Power Vinyasa Yoga, and after workouts she craved a healthy snack. After she was disappointed with the sugary, oat-heavy granolas at the store, Hilliard created her own mix of toasted seeds, whole nuts, fruits and oats. Her special blend was such a hit with friends and family that she converted her passion into a business in 2009.

With no added sugars or preservatives, Tay’s Power Granola has zero trans fat, low sugar, high fiber and tons of omega 3 and 6 fatty acids for heart health.

Power Granola flavors include Cranberry Nutty Crunch, Blueberry Coco-Nutty Crunch, Power Berry and Banana Pecan Crunch. Tay’s Gourmet is available at select Walmart Stores, Kroger, Albertsons, Central Markets, Market Street, United Supermarket, The Fresh Market and Village Market. (Dallas) August 13, 2014 – Explore Horizons, the premier British children’s enrichment and tutoring club that currently educates more than 100,000 pupils in the U.K., today announced the launch of its second Dallas-Fort Worth location as they continue their expansion in the U.S.

Following the successful opening of their first U.S. education center in Colleyville earlier this year (the center already has nearly 100 members), the new center is located at 3062 Texas Sage Trail, Fort Worth, TX 76177, in the impressively expanding Alliance Town Center complex. A ribbon cutting ceremony is set for the Alliance location on September 9, 2014. Parents are invited to enjoy refreshments and meet with the staff while their children engage in fun and interactive math, reading and writing activities.

Explore Horizons centers provide math, reading & writing enrichment and tutoring for children in Pre-K through 8th grade of all abilities. The curriculum is tailored to each child’s individual needs and is designed as an on-going supplement to a school education. Many courses are aligned to the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills, but Explore Horizons also places importance on challenging children beyond the school curriculum where appropriate. Whether children are finding school challenging or they are at the top of the class, Explore Horizons aims to help children to gain confidence, make academic progress and enjoy learning. More centers are planned throughout Texas, with further growth in progress across America and the globe.

Proof of the success of Explore Horizons in Dallas - Fort Worth comes from Maria Veces the parent of Paula who has been attending the Colleyville center since May and will be transferring to the new Alliance Town Center location when it opens.

“The service provided by the tutors is excellent. Their enthusiasm is contagious and makes my child feel energized to learn. They make learning fun! My child is benefiting from the educational reinforcement she needs and the family are benefiting from the flexibility that they need,” said Veces.

Explore Horizons is open 7 days a week and through school vacations which is appealing to many busy families in the metroplex.

Results of progress are obvious through kids’ attitudes alone, but true bookworms can find proof of Explore’s effectiveness in an independent research study conducted by the University of Reading in England. The study, which ran from October 2011 to July 2012, tested student members’ progress in math and language arts compared to a control group who did not attend the program. “Explorers” scored better on standardized tests, achieving 30 percent higher on math than the comparison group.

Key findings from Dr. Ellie Francis-Brophy and Dr. Christian Nygaard at the University of Reading proved Explore is beneficial to boys and girls of all abilities across all age ranges, including those living in a wide variety of socio-economic areas. Interviews with parents revealed a huge difference in attitude as well as test scores. Parents noticed children overcame shyness, built confidence, became more independent, and were less reluctant to try new tasks without assistance.

“At Explore Horizons we want children to develop a true passion for learning” said Alastair Dawe, Head of U.S. operations for Explore Horizons. “Explore gives children the opportunity to overcome their challenges and discover their talents. Our goal is not to teach students how to pass the test, but how to reach their full potential and become successful life-long learners. Children are the future and we believe they are the resources the world should invest in most.”

Explore Horizons was founded in 2001 by Cambridge University mathematics graduate Bill Mills. It currently operates more than 100 centers in the U.K. that teach over 100,000 students. The first center in the U.S. opened in Colleyville in March 2014. Plans to open centers throughout the United States and the globe are underway.
