Skate on the rink where Olympic gold medalists have performed to celebrate the XXXIII Olympiad. Galleria Dallas Ice Skating Center will get into the Olympics spirit with a Go for the Gold Skate Day from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. Friday, Aug. 9. Skate fans are invited to come decked out in red, white and blue as they glide on the same rink as Olympians Ashley Cain, Amber Glenn, Mirai Nagasu, Kurt Browning, Johnny Weir, Kristi Yamaguchi, Dorothy Hamill and others.

Since Go for the Gold Skate Day coincides with Tax-Free Weekend, when back-to-school shopping is in full gear, guests are invited to snap a selfie at the back-to-school photo op in the Outdoor Plaza, near North Italia.

Go for the Gold Skate Day is part of a series of themed skating experiences presented by Galleria Dallas Ice Skating Center this year. Tickets can be purchased onsite for $12, plus $5 to rent skates.
