Traditionally, the making of tamales has been a labor-intensive practice involving many hands. Chef Rambo Saucedo of Cantina Laredo has simplified the process and is teaching his secrets to interested guests.
Cantina Laredo in Frisco will hold a modern interpretation of a Tamalada, a tamale-making party, on Wednesday, Nov. 1 at 6 p.m.
Guests will learn hands-on techniques to make beef and chicken tamales, and they will leave with dozens of their own creations. During the process, they’ll also enjoy a curated collection of cocktails, light bites, and education from a tequila expert. Reservations for the tamale event are $84.99 and can be made by calling the restaurant directly.
This event precedes the restaurant’s traditional tamale offering during the Thanksgiving and Christmas season, during which chicken and beef tamales can be ordered for $19.99 per dozen.
