The third virtual event in the DEC@Redbird and B.U.I.L.D. Collaborative’s joint series, “Building a Greater Dallas Through Inclusive Entrepreneurial Growth,” will take place on Wednesday, Sept. 15 at noon Central time. The event is for business support practitioners, capital providers, ecosystem builders and philanthropic partners.
The September event will focus on the state of immigration and entrepreneurship in the City of Dallas. According to a recent study by New American Economy, immigrants make up 24% of the city’s population and one-third of its entrepreneurs. This session will feature conversations with economic impact experts.
The quarterly “Building a Greater Dallas” meetings are designed to share best practices and resources to align stakeholders and those who will be supporting Dallas’ local businesses. They are co-hosted by B.U.I.L.D., which stands for Broadening Urban Investment to Leverage Dallas, and the DEC@Redbird, Southern Dallas’ entrepreneurial hub.
Speakers and presenters include Christina da Silva, Welcoming Communities & Immigrant Affairs Officer, City of Dallas; DeNita L. Lacking-Quinn, Business Outreach Specialist, City of Dallas; and Kelli Meilink, partner, Husch Blackwell.
