The DEC@Redbird is launching a seven-week intensive program designed to help propel Black founders from an idea to a successful, market-validated business concept. BIG iDEA DALLAS will serve as a first step in a founder’s entrepreneurial journey.
In the program, participants will take a deep dive into the innovation process through market research and competitive analysis, while receiving counsel from well-established business leaders who will help these emerging entrepreneurs develop a thoroughly validated business concept.
Participants will also get the opportunity to pitch their final business concept at the BIG iDEA DALLAS Demo Day, which will feature an audience of Dallas-based investors. The first-place winner will have the honor of holding the title of the BIG iDEA DALLAS champion and will secure up to $3,500 in funding.
The virtual program, which begins Sept. 16, will take place seven consecutive Thursdays from 6 to 8 p.m. Each participant will be given a microgrant at completion. Applications are now open through Sept. 10 at b.link.bigideadallas.
Following the program, participants will have access to mentorship, the DEC@Redbird membership and exclusive networking hours.
