Dallas is No. 1 in the nation for small businesses, and No. 3 for entrepreneurs. The DEC Network, a nonprofit resource center for budding entrepreneurs, knows that partnering with a corporation often can be a smart move for startups. That’s why its Dallas Startup Week, powered by Capital One, dedicates an entire day to Corporate Startup Innovation, a summit that tackles the subject of how startups and corporations can partner together. Due to COVID 19, the event will take place completely virtually on Thursday, Sept. 3.
Keynote speakers for the event include Hesam Hosseini, CEO of Match.com and Jewel Burks Solomon, Head of Google for Startups in the United States. Hosseini has been in his role since 2018, and is in a unique position because in between stints at Match, he co-founded a startup. Burks Solomon says that in her job, she is on a mission to level the playing field for under-resourced founders in emerging U.S. markets.
