Dallas is No. 1 in the nation for small businesses and women entrepreneurs, and No. 3 for all entrepreneurs. But even entrepreneurs with the most solid business ideas need help. To that end, the Dallas Entrepreneur Center (The DEC Network) will host the sixth annual Dallas Startup Week (DSW) powered by Capital One from April 26-May 1, 2020.
Registration for the exciting week of networking, learning and mentoring is now open for the event’s free sessions and summits. Last year, over 10,000 people attended DSW. Responding to feedback from previous attendees, this year, most sessions will be held at Gilley’s Dallas, just south of downtown.
This year’s Dallas Startup Week sessions fall into 16 tracks. Most of the sessions take place at Gilley’s, which offers plenty of nearby parking. Here are the tracks: Coding, Venture, Arts & Entertainment, Healthcare, Marketing, Social Impact, Artificial Intelligence, Defense Innovation, Cybersecurity, Blockchain, Legal, Gaming & Esports, Augmented Reality/Virtual Reality, Fashion, Retail and Personal Development.
DSW also offers three summits: Disrupt Dallas, Women of Innovation and Corporate Startup Innovation (CSI).
- Disrupt Dallas, a combination of speakers, discussions and networking opportunities, targets minority business owners and will take place at Spaces in Uptown Dallas on Sunday, April 26.
- Women of Innovation is a daylong slate of sessions and speakers about women in business held at Gilley’s Dallas on Wednesday, April 29.
- CSI, a daylong program bringing together corporations and startups for collaboration and learning, takes place on Friday, May 1, at the Capital One headquarters in Plano.
Registration for the event can be done online at Eventbrite.com. Download the Attendify app for up-to-the-minute information on DSW sessions and schedules.
