Addison Oktoberfest has been recognized as one of the most authentic Oktoberfest celebrations outside of Munich for over three decades. This year, over 50,000 fans will come together September 19-22, 2019, to share a love of polka, German food and, of course, the same Paulaner Bier that will be served at Bavaria’s favorite festival.
Dozens of polka bands and other traditional entertainers from around the country perform with continuous entertainment on multiple stages. Returning this year is Grammy-nominated polka performer Alex Meixner – better known to fans as the Hormel Pepperoni one-man band. Oktoberfest guests, who visit Addison from all over the Southwest and beyond, will enjoy fun contests such as dachshund races, bier barrel rolling, a German Idol yodeling contest, a German spelling bee and more! Guests wanting a more intimate experience can purchase a seat in the Chamberlain’s Brau Haus, with full-service Bavarian dining and an exclusive menu.
This year, all Addison festivals are implementing a point-of-sale purchase system for food and beverage. Addison Oktoberfest will no longer sell Tasty Bucks (coupons/tickets). All food and beverage vendors will accept direct payment, including cash, credit/debit card, and Tasty Bucks from previous years (Addison Tasty Bucks never expire). ATMs will also be available at the event.
Make an Oktoberfest weekend of it: Book an Addison Oktoberfest Hotel Package, which includes lodging, event admission tickets, and a commemorative stein – but book early, packages are limited.
While often questioned about hosting a festival called Oktoberfest during the month of September, Addison times its festival to open the same weekend as the Munich celebration, as a part of the town’s efforts to make Addison Oktoberfest the most authentic Oktoberfest celebration in North America.
