North Texas’ most popular Latin music festival, the Vitruvian Salsa Festival, continues Saturday, Aug. 8 with a contemporary twist on some classic sounds. Now in its 12th year at Addison’s Vitruvian Park, the Vitruvian Salsa Festival celebrates both culture and community with monthly dance parties designed to get everyone from beginners to seasoned pros on the dance floor.
The festival runs from 6 to 10 p.m. with professional salsa lessons from 6:30 to 7 p.m. and Latin DJ Ruben Reyes spinning tracks. At 7 p.m., Latin Swing turns up the energy with live music throughout the rest of the night. Food trucks and vendors surround Vitruvian Park’s amphitheater for each performance.
Latin Swing has been widely recognized for bringing a new interpretation of classic Latin beats while respecting the musical traditions that have inspired them. The band is set to bring a wide variety of Latin dance music to the Vitruvian amphitheater, including salsa, merengue, cumbia, bachata and more.
