Sweet Success Last year’s winner Nicolas Deadman with his prize-winning painting.

This spring, Trinity Christian Academy middle school art students will be participating in a contest hosted by Polk-A-Dot Bakery in Addison. Each member of Jimmie Hudson’s 2-D/3-D art class will paint cupcakes in the style of American artist Wayne Thiebaud, who is best known for his still life scenes, especially those depicting food.

Starting April 11, the students’ paintings will be on display in the bakery, where friends, parents and patrons will be able to vote for their favorite work of art. The winning artist will receive a free cupcake party, courtesy of Polk-A-Dot Bakery. So don’t forget to drop by the bakery, pick up a pastry and cast a vote for your favorite cupcake creation.
