Thayer Atkins, Jack Mueller and Garrett Clifford

Last month, Trinity Christian Academy (TCA) sophomore Jack Mueller won a Prep National Championship title for the second year in a row, finishing first in the 113-pound weight class at the national tournament hosted by Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Penn. Additionally, Mueller and senior Thayer Atkins, who both won Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools (TAPPS) state wrestling titles in February, earned Prep All-American honors. TCA junior Garrett Clifford was also named a Prep All-American honoree. Atkins placed fifth in the 120-pound weight class and Clifford placed seventh in the 126-pound weight class.

The Trojan wrestling team, which recently finished third at the TAPPS State Wrestling Championships in San Antonio, finished 11th out of the 300 teams currently in the National Prep organization. Senior Ross Lopez and juniors Kahler Martin and Andrew McBride also contributed to the team's outstanding finish at the national tournament.
