DALLAS – March 26, 2014 – On Saturday, April 5, Trinity Christian Academy (TCA) will host a fundraiser and concert at Watermark Community Church featuring 2013 American Music Award winner, Matthew West. The performance, which is part of West’s acoustic “Hello, My Name Is…” tour, begins at 7 p.m. and will not only feature West’s music, but the inspirational and deeply personal stories behind some of his most popular songs.

“We’re thrilled to have a world-class musician and songwriter like Matthew West perform at this event, which will be a great evening of fellowship and a wonderful opportunity for us to enhance educational opportunities for our students through TCA’s Student Tuition Aid program,” said TCA Headmaster Dave Delph. “We’re also eager to share Matthew’s music and the positive, faith-based messages behind it with our community.”

Praised by The New York Times as “a vivid and compelling songwriter with impressive approaches to the familiar,” the contemporary Christian singer gained critical acclaim after the release of his newest album “The Story of Your Life,” a project inspired by more than 10,000 letters West received from fans and friends in recent years.  Following the album’s release last fall, West was nominated for four Grammy Awards. He was also named the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) Christian Music Songwriter/Artist of the Year and won an American Music Award for Best Contemporary Inspirational Artist.

Funds raised will benefit Student Tuition Aid and facilities enhancement. Tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for students and can be purchased at iTickets.com, or on campus at TCA’s lower, middle or upper school offices. A raffle benefiting Student Tuition Aid will also take place after the concert and the winner will select a new car, courtesy of Huffines Auto Dealerships and TCA parents Ann and Ray Huffines. Raffle tickets are $5 each or $75 for a packet of 15. Individual raffle tickets may be purchased at TCA, or packets of 15 may be purchased online at www.trinitychristian.org/raffle.

This year’s concert and car raffle are expected to raise $150,000.
