Matthew West performs at TCA's annual fundraiser.

DALLAS – May 12, 2014 – Last month, Trinity Christian Academy (TCA) hosted its annual fundraising event, a concert featuring Grammy-nominated artist Matthew West at Watermark Community Church. The concert ticket sales and a car raffle sponsored by Huffines Auto Dealerships exceeded $200,000; these funds will be used for student tuition aid.

“We were honored to have Matthew West perform and share some incredibly powerful testimonies at this year’s event,” stated TCA Headmaster Dave Delph. “We’re also grateful for Huffines Auto Dealerships and the funds brought in through their car raffle. Our annual student tuition aid fundraiser has a huge impact on families who may not otherwise be able to experience the classical, Christian education our school provides, and this year’s event would not have been possible without the dedication and generosity of both Matthew and the Huffines family.”

West shared personal stories and the stories of others who influenced tracks on his last two albums, “The Story of Your Life” and “Into the Light,” which were inspired by more than 10,000 letters West received from fans and friends in recent years. West was nominated for four Grammy Awards, named the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) Christian Music Songwriter/Artist of the Year and also won an American Music Award for Best Contemporary Inspirational Artist.

The concert and car raffle significantly surpassed the school’s fundraising goal of $150,000. Money raised at the event will go directly toward TCA’s student tuition aid program, facilities enhancement and classrooms.
