Cheerleaders from TCA

Trinity Christian Academy (TCA) raised more than $460,000 during the eighth annual North Texas Giving Day, an online philanthropic event held once a year to raise money for local charities and non-profit organizations.

Every donor that participated helped TCA receive “bonus funds” for the organization, and the first $120,000 TCA received was matched dollar-for-dollar by alumni, donors and friends. TCA received 967gifts, more than any other school on North Texas Giving Day, and was awarded $5,000 for this achievement. Of the more than 2,500 organizations that participated in North Texas Giving Day, TCA was ranked seventh in terms of number of gifts. The funds raised will be used for campus upgrades and to support athletics through the TCA Athletic Booster Club.

"Each year, the total amount raised for our school during this event grows larger, illustrating the value TCA holds in North Texas," said TCA Headmaster Dave Delph. “Since we began participating in North Texas Giving Day in 2013, we have raised a total of $1,479,801. I am very proud of our community and want to thank everyone who participated in North Texas Giving Day for their generous support of our school.”

With the contributions from TCA's donors, in addition to thousands of other donors that day, North Texas Giving Day surpassed its national record by raising more than $37 million in 18 hours. Donations poured in from people in more than 39 countries and all 50 states at a rate of nearly $34,500 per minute. This is the first time in the event’s eight-year history that all participating nonprofits received a gift.
