Recently, fathers of students at Trinity Christian Academy (TCA) served snow cones as part of the school’s Dad’s Club activities. TCA’s Dad’s Club is comprised of 178 fathers of lower school students who volunteer their time to participate in the TCA community.

Jay Young has been the leader of the Dad’s Club for the past two years and has been a member of the group since his daughter Michelle, who is currently in the 5th grade, was in kindergarten. Jay explained, “There is nothing more rewarding than to see children light up when their parents take an active role at their school.  As dads, we appreciate everything our wives do each day for our families and can show them we are a unified team in raising our children.”

The Dad’s Club hosts many activities throughout the year including Dads on Doors, where participants are stationed at the carpool lines each morning and greet the parents and children as they open their car doors; Reader Dads in the Classroom, which gives dads the opportunity to read their child's favorite books to their class; singing Christmas carols to the kids before school begins each December; and at the end of each school year the Dad’s Club members act as playground helpers and serve snow cones to students.
