Kindergarteners at Trinity Christian Academy recently received an in-depth look at the life of earthworms and their impact on the environment. Students used what they had learned in class to carefully construct habitats for the worms, and then observed the annelids as they adjusted to their new environment.

Although the students enjoyed watching the earthworms in their new environment, they also learned vital information on the worm’s role in the ecosystem as teachers explained how worms increase the nutrients of soil and provide food for animals, like birds.
