Two freshmen students from Trinity Christian Academy (TCA), Leah Kegerreis and Hannah Alpert, were recently selected to join the 2018-2019 Nasher Sculpture Center Student Advisory Board. The board, which consists of 24 Dallas-area high school students, will meet throughout the year and will be given private tours of exhibitions, participate in guest artist talks, produce a publication and meet professionals in creative fields. Both Kegerreis and Alpert were nominated by Jay Henderson, a visual arts teacher at TCA.

In addition to their recommendations from Henderson, both Kegerreis and Alpert were chosen based on their applications, sketches and essays submitted in the previous year.  The Student Advisory Board is open to students enrolled in grades 9 through 12 who are active participants in art or art history classes. All board members also have independent interests in the arts and a desire to share their insights with others.

The Nasher Sculpture Center Student Advisory Board was formed by the Nasher education team in 2011 to develop ideas for student programs and take part in unique behind-the-scenes learning opportunities at the museum. As members of this board, selected students will be able to work with other student-artists from around the area at each board meeting, attend special exhibits in the museum, meet with many different artists, be involved with the teacher advisory board and assist in planning a student-centered festival that will have activities for Dallas-area children.
