Pros and rookies are invited to showcase their comedic talents for a five-minute standup set at Bourbon & Banters weekly open-mic comedy nights. The eclectic underground speakeasy located in the iconic Statler is kicking off its own Underground Comedy Club on Tuesday, Sept. 12.

The night will be hosted by the hilarious, Dallas-based comedian, Gretchen Young, also known by her stage name GretchYo.

Open-Mic Night will be held every Tuesday from 8 p.m. to midnight. Those who choose to take the stage can do so by signing up on-site starting at 7:30 p.m. Winners will be eligible to host Bourbon & Banters monthly Underground Comedy Club dinner.

On May 24 and 25, hundreds of Dallas residents will gather some with photos of fallen heroes, some dressed in uniform, and some carrying heavy gear to walk the Katy Trail in observance of Memorial May.

Organized by nonprofit Carry The Load, the event honors the sacrifices of our nations military, veterans, first responders and their families. Participants of all ages and backgrounds will carry the load for military and first responders by walking along the Katy Trail. The event also features food trucks, family-friendly activities and personal stories shared from the main stage from local heroes and their families.

Overeasy, the restaurant located inside The Statler, is offering hospitality employees an Industry Brunch from 9 am to 2 pm Mondays beginning June 26.

At the brunch, service industry workers can enjoy $2 mimosas with the purchase of an entrée. Overeasys extensive menu features three dozen entrees, including Avocado Toast ($13) with nine-grain toast, cherry tomatoes, cotija cheese and cilantro; Ricotta Lemon Zest Pancakes ($14); and the Commerce St. Burger ($16) with smoked bacon, cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickles, onions and dijonnaise, served with fries.
