Each month, Galleria Dallas partners with a local or national charity to shine a spotlight on its work with a Gallery Wall. Septembers charity partner is Grant Halliburton Foundation, a Dallas-based nonprofit that works to strengthen the network of mental health resources for children, teens and young adults, promote better mental health and prevent suicide. The installation marks the foundations 20th anniversary, sharing a message of hope during National Suicide Prevention Month.

On Saturday, Sept. 12, from noon to 2 p.m., Grant Halliburton Foundation staff members will be on-site to host Hope in Every Color, a hands-on art activity for children and families, on Level 3 near the Play Place. Children will explore how colors, lines and shapes can express feelings and work on coloring pages inspired by Grant Halliburtons artwork.

Drawing inspiration from the artwork featured in Journey, the program gives families another way to experience Grants creativity. Older children may also respond to reflection prompts such as Hope feels like and Someone I can talk to is. Families can participate at their own pace, learn more about Grant Halliburton Foundation and pick up complimentary Grant Halliburton Foundation items.

At the brunch, service industry workers can enjoy $2 mimosas with the purchase of an entrée. Overeasys extensive menu features three dozen entrees, including Avocado Toast ($13) with nine-grain toast, cherry tomatoes, cotija cheese and cilantro; Ricotta Lemon Zest Pancakes ($14); and the Commerce St. Burger ($16) with smoked bacon, cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickles, onions and dijonnaise, served with fries.

Pros and rookies are invited to showcase their comedic talents for a five-minute standup set at Bourbon & Banters weekly open-mic comedy nights. The eclectic underground speakeasy located in the iconic Statler is kicking off its own Underground Comedy Club on Tuesday, Sept. 12.

The night will be hosted by the hilarious, Dallas-based comedian, Gretchen Young, also known by her stage name GretchYo.

Open-Mic Night will be held every Tuesday from 8 p.m. to midnight. Those who choose to take the stage can do so by signing up on-site starting at 7:30 p.m. Winners will be eligible to host Bourbon & Banters monthly Underground Comedy Club dinner.

Performers in authentic costumes showcase traditional Bavarian folk dances, oompah music, sing-alongs, and yodels. Guests can enjoy a special Oktoberfest Paulaner Bier along with German sausage, schnitzel, sauerkraut, strudel and giant pretzels. The Texas Zwei Step area showcases western swing music, polka-influenced Norteña, Texas craft biers, a silent disco and a vintage arcade. As one of the countrys longest running and most beloved Oktoberfest celebrations, Addison Oktoberfest, presented by Paulaner, features four days of entertainment for all ages with a Texas twist.

On Sept. 20, join us for Sunday Hund-Day! Dogs are invited to experience the Addison Oktoberfest fun for one special day. Festival gates open at noon, but the main event is the Dachshund Dash, which kicks off at 1 p.m. in the Partyhalle. The race is brought to you by Pappys Pet Lodge and sees nearly 100 dachshunds race through the finish line. The ultimate winner will be awarded The Golden Dachshund. Racers must be registered in advance to participate. Registration opens Aug. 15 and will remain open until Sept. 13 or until 100 dogs are signed up.

At 3 p.m., check out the Pet Parade, brought to you by Texas Credit Union. Hunds will strut their stuff in their Oktoberfest best from the Java & Hopps Pavilion to the Bierspiele Stadium. Owners can register their dogs starting at 1 p.m. on the day of the parade. Prizes will be awarded to the best-dressed pups!

Kids under 13 years old also get free admission on Sunday. Tickets are $10 per person 13 years and older.
