Grant Halliburton Foundation and Center for BrainHealth, part of The University of Texas at Dallas, are partnering to present Journey: The Art and Legacy of Grant Halliburton, an exhibition on view Sept. 825 at the Center for BrainHealth. Journey will feature more than 50 of Grants original paintings, charcoal works, drawings and sketches, along with selections from his personal writings and poetry and a Listening Lounge featuring music he wrote and recorded with his high school bandmates. The exhibition will span three floors of the Center for BrainHealths Brain Performance Institute building. A preview on the first floor will welcome visitors and introduce the exhibition, with most of the collection and accompanying elements displayed on the second and third floors.

The exhibition will be open to the public Sept. 8th through 25th on Wednesdays and Fridays from noon to 4 p.m. Appointments are available on other weekdays by calling Center for BrainHealth at 972-883-3400. In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, Sept. 15 through Oct. 15, Galleria Dallas will highlight Hispanic and Latino culture through a monthlong Artist Collective exhibit and a series of free live performances.

The art window will display works by Brenda Melgoza Ciardiello, a Texas-based interdisciplinary artist, writer and educator whose work explores the relationship between place and memory through painting, ceramic sculpture and photography.

Throughout the month, local dance and music groups will perform on Saturdays and Sundays at 2 and 4 p.m. on Level 1 near Lane Boots. Entertainment rotates daily and includes ballet folklorico by nearly a dozen dance groups and a live mariachi performance by Mariachi Orgullo de LV Berkner High School. Ross is a leader whose cultural fluency and skilled storytelling allow her to forge meaningful connections with audiences and customers alike.

Two inspiring mother-daughter teams will co-chair the 2026 Stand for Her Luncheon: Beth Thoele and Brooke Russo, and Kathy Helm and Marci Kramer. Honorary chairs are Lottye and Bobby Lyle. Their longstanding commitment to community service and nonprofit leadership reflects the transformative impact New Friends New Life creates for women and girls throughout North Texas.

For eight seasons, Tracee Ellis Ross starred in ABCs critically acclaimed comedy series BLACK-ISH, earning a Golden Globe Award, six NAACP Image Awards, and nominations for Emmy Awards,Screen Actors Guild Awards, and Critics Choice Awards for her portrayal of Dr. Rainbow Johnson. The series also won an Emmy Award, a Peabody Award, and was nominated for multiple Emmy Awards, Golden Globe Awards, SAG Awards, and Critics Choice Awards. Ross also starred in the Emmy and GLAAD Award-nominated series GIRLFRIENDS for eight seasons, earning two NAACP Image Awards and a BET Comedy Award for her portrayal of Joan Clayton.
