North Texas’ most popular Latin music festival, the Vitruvian Salsa Festival, continues Saturday, Aug. 9 with sounds from Dallas-based band Zone D’Mambo. Now in its 11th year at Addison’s Vitruvian Park, the Vitruvian Salsa Festival celebrates both culture and community with monthly dance parties designed to get everyone from beginners to seasoned pros on the dance floor.
The festival runs from 6 to 10 p.m. with professional salsa lessons from 6:30 to 7 p.m. and Latin DJ Ruben Reyes spinning tracks. Food trucks and vendors surround Vitruvian Park’s amphitheater for each performance.
August’s featured band, Zone D’Mambo, brings a wide variety of Latin dance music to the Vitruvian Park amphitheater, including salsa, merengue, cumbia, bachata and a little rock en español. The band features musicians from Puerto Rico, Peru, Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Venezuela, Colombia and the United States.
