Now is your last chance to visit The Trains at NorthPark! Benefitting The Ronald McDonald House of Dallas for the past 36 years, the Trains at NorthPark have been delighting the hearts and minds of young and old alike. Presented by Bank of Texas for the 15th consecutive year, The Trains at NorthPark – now in its 25th year at Dallas’ top shopping destination will run through Friday, Jan. 5, 2024.  This beloved annual family-friendly event raises the money needed to help “the House that LOVE built” provide a home away from home for families of children facing serious illness or injury seeking medical care in Dallas.  Honorary Chairs for the 2023 season are Lindy and Brad Berkley and Event Chairs are Elizabeth Dacus and Leigh Danley.

“The Trains at NorthPark is such an important and special part of our year at Ronald McDonald House Dallas,” said Jill Cumnock, CEO. “This year, the monies raised from Trains are especially crucial because our operating budget has increased by 25% from last year. Since returning to full operations post covid earlier this year, our House of 89 rooms has been full, running near capacity every day. RMHD provides our services free of charge to families so everyone who buys a ticket, sponsors, purchases a railcar, or volunteers at the Trains at NorthPark makes a real difference in helping to defray these costs.  We encourage everyone who wants to experience some Holiday magic to join us this season!”

The 2023 Trains at NorthPark Kid Conductor is six-year-old Serenity Williams. Over the last 12 months, what started as a bad headache one weekend, quickly progressed to paralysis. Serenity and her family would learn that this once physically active, vibrant 6-year-old had developed a rare neurological condition called AFM that affects less than 1% of children in the world. Her family travels all the way from Midland, TX to receive care at Children’s, most recently a major surgery to straighten her spine.

Situated on Level One of NorthPark, adjacent to Santa and Macy’s, The Trains at NorthPark is the largest miniature train exhibit in Texas with more than 700 railcars featuring the corporations, organizations, families, and individuals who make the attraction possible. Since its launch in 1987, The Trains have helped raise more than $18 million for RMHD and has welcomed more than 50,000 visitors each year to Dallas’ favorite shopping destination.

With 1,600-feet of tracks, The Trains at NorthPark will feature cityscapes like Dallas, with landmarks including The Perot Museum, Pegasus Park, the Nasher Sculpture Center and Fair Park; New York with Times Square and Grand Central Terminal; and San Francisco’s Golden Gate Bridge. Ronald McDonald House of Dallas’s Family Room at Scottish Rite in Frisco Turns Five

Ronald McDonald House of Dallas (RMHD) and Scottish Rite for Children Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Center in Frisco recently celebrated the fifth birthday of the opening of their Family Room. Opened in 2018, the RMHD Family Room provides the families of patients a quiet, comfortable, living-room-style space to wait for their child during procedures and I.V. infusions for orthopedic care at Scottish Rite. In these five years, Scottish Rite Frisco has performed more than 4,700 surgeries treating patients’ growing muscles, joints and bones. This Family Room was the first of its kind in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex.

The Family Room allows RMHD to extend the supportive, warm environment it is well known for within the walls of health care institutions. Equipped with comforting amenities, including a kitchenette, free snacks and beverages, work and play areas, the Family Room is located on the 4th floor of the Scottish Rite Frisco campus. This convenient location allows parents to be just steps away from their child’s bedside and nearby for clinical updates. The Family Room is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, and is run by one part-time staff and several volunteers.

“The Ronald McDonald House Family Room was a relaxing and welcoming space for us to wait while our daughter was in surgery,” the mother of a 14-year-old girl having ankle surgery says. “It was comforting to be in close proximity to where she was, and you can tell the volunteers genuinely care about creating a homelike environment for families.”

Ronald McDonald Houses are widely known for providing a free “home away from home” to families around the world while they seek critical medical care for their children. RMHD, founded in 1981, has blossomed into the 8th largest of 383 Houses globally. This branch serves more than 1,400 families annually, 45% of whom have experienced the essence of “the House that love built in Dallas” through the Family Room at Scottish Rite Frisco. Scottish Rite for Children and RMHD share a more than 30-year history of collaborating to improve the hospital experiences and clinical outcomes of patients and their families from near and far. Often, families with patients seeking care at Scottish Rite that are far from their homes will stay long-term at RMHD, where they receive the daily support and resources that they need to focus on their child’s care.

“The Ronald McDonald House of Dallas Family Room at our Frisco campus has provided our patient families with a special place to call home while they are seeking our services,” says Robert L. Walker, President/CEO of Scottish Rite for Children. “While our families wait for their child’s surgery to be completed, the Family Room serves as a space to rest and recharge. We’re grateful for the support that Ronald McDonald House of Dallas has given our patients and families throughout the years and look forward to many more.”

“RMHD could not have picked a better partner than Scottish Rite for its first Family Room in Dallas-Fort Worth,” says Jill Cumnock, CEO of Ronald McDonald House of Dallas. “We are thrilled by our shared impact thus far and look forward to growing this model.”

Houston (April 27, 2017) – Fisher Phillips announced today its website, www.fisherphillips.com, has won multiple awards for its layout, design, interface and overall functionality.

The awards include: best in class in the legal category from Interactive Media Awards (IMA), the Web Marketing Association’s 2016 WebAward for outstanding achievement in web development; the 2016 MarCom award for website design and development in the category of professional services; the 2016 W3 award for law and legal services websites; and the 2016 Summit International Award’s emerging media award (EMA) leader award for website design and development in the B2B service category.

Last year, Fisher Phillips rebranded from Fisher & Phillips, which was announced with the launch of the new website. The new logo and tagline, “On the Front Lines of Workplace Law,” were heavily integrated into the new website design.

“Our rebranding and redesign of the website were major steps forward for Fisher Phillips last year, and we’re pleased to see all of the hard work that went into it acknowledged,” said Chairman and Managing Partner Roger Quillen. “The website now represents our firm much more accurately and dynamically with its bold look and sleek, modern interface.”

Fisher Phillips worked with Firmseek to build the new website. The shift in part was to note that while labor law is still one of the firm’s premier practice areas, much of the firm’s work is in employment law, including employee benefits, global immigration, data privacy, unfair competition and trade secrets.

The IMA award represents the very best in planning, execution and overall professionalism for web design. To win the best in class award, websites must successfully pass a comprehensive judging process, scoring high marks based on strict criteria.

The WebAward has been the gold standard of excellence for website development since 1997. Independent review judges from around the world evaluate websites in 96 industries. The competition is the premier award recognition program for web developers and advertising agencies.

The MarCom awards are a creative competition for individuals or companies involved in conceptualizing, writing and designing print, visual, audio and web materials and programs. Entries come from corporate marketing and communication departments, advertising agencies, PR firms, design shops, production companies and freelancers.

The W3 Awards honor creative excellence on the web and recognize the creative and marketing professionals behind award-winning websites, videos and marketing programs. The W3 is sanctioned and judged by the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts, an invitation-only body consisting of top-tier professionals from acclaimed media, interactive, advertising and marketing firms.

The Summit International Awards organization is dedicated to furthering excellence in the marketing communications industry. The Summit’s EMA recognizes and celebrates creativity, innovation and those pushing the boundaries of creative excellence in all forms of emerging media.
